Apply by February 15, 2027, for a chance to receive $2,500!
The legal team at Shibley Law wants to help first-generation college students pursue their degrees despite any financial barriers standing in their way. Beginning this year, qualifying students can apply for Breaking Barriers: The Shibley Law First-Generation Scholarship.
This scholarship promises $2,500 to a student whose resilience, determination, and courage have driven them to pursue a four-year college degree, despite neither of their parents having completed one. Our personal injury lawyers believe that this scholarship will help the next generation of leaders, advocates, and changemakers find their footing.
To apply for Breaking Barriers: The Shibley Law First-Generation Scholarship, students must submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay to Shibley Law for consideration. The essay should go into detail about how being a first-generation college student has shaped their perspective on education and their future career goals.
Applicants may reflect on how factors such as finances, family responsibilities, academic expectations, or navigating college without guidance from previous generations have shaped their perspective and goals.
Students should submit their scholarship applications to the firm by February 15, 2027, to qualify for consideration. The scholarship selection committee will review every application, but Paul Shibley will select the scholarship recipient. The firm cannot accept incomplete or late applications.
Upon selecting the scholarship recipient, Shibley Law will share a press release and blog post celebrating that student’s achievements online. Shibley Law reserves the right to use the recipient’s name and likeness as related to the scholarship on its website, in marketing materials, and in social media posts.
For more information about the scholarship, students can visit the Shibley Law First-Generation Scholarship page.
